• use our custom amnesiabranding iceweasel extension to localize at runtime:
  • the homepage: done
  • the default search engine: done
• The feature/more_languages branch installs all iceweasel l10n packages (adds 10-20MB to the ISO size)
• The feature/tails-greeter branch stops using localepurge.
• implement a graphical language-choosing "boot menu":./boot_menu.html: "TailsGreeter":./TailsGreeter.html

• have a look to tasksel's chinese-s-desktop, arabic-desktop, and so on for fonts, input systems, etc.; in Wheezy, there are the task-*-desktop packages

• Debian Live's live-config-staging repository has a 904-locales-extra hook that installs a locale-dependent packages set at boot-time in order to better support the ja_JP, ko_KR and zh_CN locales.

Size¶

• openoffice.org-l10n-*: 210MB compressed .deb (Squeeze amd64)
• openoffice.org-hyphenation-* and dependencies: 4.5MB compressed .deb (Squeeze i386); in Wheezy, the packages are called hyphen-* and more languages are supported
• openoffice.org-thesaurus-*: 23MB compressed .deb (Squeeze i386); in Wheezy, the packages are called mythes-*
